The marine component of German Special Forces Command (KSM) has received a mobile version of the Thales Sagittarius Evolution small arms trainer. Developed from the AGSHP system already in Bundeswehr service, the new trainer is the smallest and most mobile of the Thales simulators and will be used by a variety of units also stationed at Eckernförde to train on a wide range of weapons, including the Dynamit Nobel Wirkmittel 90mm rocket/grenade launcher.
The system allows for two trainees to practice weapon skills simultaneously and allows for a range of ammunition to be simulated, including anti-structure munitions, explosive, illumination and smoke. It can also cater for special forces requirements for CSAR, convoy escort and a wide variety of specialised missions. Installed in hardened containers, the simulator can be set up by two persons inside 15 minutes.
